The lies get loud sometimes. So I go back to what's true.

Between the hospital visits, the bills, the trip, the business, there's been a lot of room for lies to sneak in. And they did.
Lies about whether I'm doing enough and making the right decisions. Providing enough. Whether God is going to come through for us.

I've learnt that I can't always stop the lies from coming. But I get to choose what I focus on.

So I've been reminding myself of these verses. Not because they fix everything immediately. But because every time I read them, the truth gets a little louder than the lie.

That's enough hope and peace for today. 🤗

Send it to someone who needs to hold on to the truth or save it for days when the lies seem louder.

We've been to A&E a few times this month and the hospital bills have been adding up, especially with all the expenses leading up to our trip. If I'm honest, I've been feeling the weight of it, especially when we're sent home being told "there's nothing you can do."

Last Friday I found myself sharing more about the costs of the visits than anything else. That's when I realised I was more worried about money than I wanted to admit.

Then on Saturday we went to a wedding. I didn't realise it at first but God brought me back to that place and to remembrance.

20 years ago I was at this same place with only $1 and decided to spend it on a teh (that's how much I love my teh 😂), and told God this is all I have. And that same night I went home and got a freelance job that provided for the next few weeks.

I was a new Christian then. Totally trusting God. Some may say naively. 😊

After the wedding I walked with my boys through Toa Payoh, the neighbourhood where that memory lives. I wanted them to know that the God who provided for their mum even then, 20 years ago, He is the same God today.

I feel God orchestrated that whole day just so I could remember what He did. So I wouldn't be worried about the finances. So I could call it to mind and have hope again.

"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope." Lamentations 3:21 🤗

"The God who works in the light also works in the shadows. If you do not see His hands, don't conclude that He isn't working." Paul David Tripp

I've been thinking about it the whole day.

Because sometimes that's exactly what it feels like right? Like things are happening around you and you're wondering where God is in all of it. But He is there. He is working. Even when we can't see it.

I don't know what you're walking through today but I hope this encourages you the way it encouraged me. 🤗

And honestly I've been on it way too much lately. So when I started this Bible writing habit, it felt like a good swap.

Then the other day my son was doing his homework next to me and he looked over and asked "Mummy what are you doing? Why are you doing this?"

That question. 🥹

I told him I was writing the Bible so that I could be in God's Word every single day. And I just thought, this is exactly why I started.

It's not just about building a habit for me. It's about what they see me do when no one is asking them to pay attention.

All you need is your Bible, a journal and a pen. Come write with me. 🤗

At the start of 2025, I was scared. My firstborn was heading to primary school and my most productive hours were suddenly to look after him. I kept asking myself, how is this going to work?

God gave me a word: Rehoboth. Open space. Not a strategy. Just an invitation to trust Him.

We did fewer pop-ups. I had less time. And yet we earned more than we ever imagined. That's God's maths.

I saw a few people doing this on social media and I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Especially because I love writing! They do it hoping to pass it on to their kids one day which is so beautiful. For me it's simpler than that. I just want a daily habit of being in the Word instead of being stuck on my phone.

Over the years I've tried so many Bible reading plans and could never stick with any of them. But this felt different.

So today I finally started. Genesis 1. Five verses in and my hand was already crying 😂 but I'm not stopping.

Last week at church we talked about the sloth mentality, you know when you KNOW you need to do something but you keep putting it off? That was me with this for weeks. But not anymore!

All you need is your Bible, a journal and a pen. That's it. No fancy setup, just you and God.
